Today, 3rd of July 2013

I decided to make my appearance more civilized and went to have a haircut. After allowing the barber to practice his skills with my hair paid him for his talents and came towards Galle bus stand.

The crowd was gathering near the main entrance and I was curious, went bit closer, saw a women lying on the ground, and looked like she was unconscious.

Went towards her checked, initially it seemed like she went through an epileptic seizure; with the help of another women who volunteered turn her in to recovery position. But when I called Galle fire brigade, bystanders wanted me to call police instead. Then someone told he already called the police. I asked why, then the story came out, this lady is working at district secretariat office, she went to bank early morning and brought some money which she was planning to give someone. Her meeting place with this person was Galle bus stand but unfortunately someone has stolen her money, Rest. 97,000 rupees to be exact.

She was unconscious due to shock; she gained consciousness, shouted "OOOH NOOO" and went unconscious again. Galle Fire brigade guys came (1-1-0 Team) took the patient to the hospital, the lady who helped me with the patient was from the same village where patient was from, and she was an off duty police officer. She volunteered to go with the patient. I advise Fire guys to write the incident at hospital police for their safety.

Yes, I stayed at the incident for more than 15 minutes, police was just 5 minutes of walking distance and no one came to the incident. The police post at the bus stand was empty, no one was on duty.

So I thought I will go and complain the police about police. I went in and requested to meet the OIC, the reception officer asked why, I told I have a complaint against police, she looked bit shocked and told OIC is busy. Then I told no problem I will tell it to you. I asked her why there isn’t anyone at the post at bus stand; she told me today they didn’t put anyone on duty. I explained her incident, and then she told it is better to tell it to the OIC. Went to meet him, told him the story. The reason he gave was that, they were not able to put anyone at the post today because president is coming tomorrow to visit few places at Galle and he had to send 160 officers for pre security checks. He also told he will only have two men tomorrow because he has to send the rest tomorrow to provide security. He was keen to write down my details, including address and telephone number,” just in case” as to him. (Whatever that means)

Few thoughts popped in to my mind.

1.       Why people are so selfish not to help someone?  I know by putting your hand in an incident like this will put you into trouble, people even may accuse you on stealing the money. What is the VALUE of HUMANITY/LIFE is it so cheap that everything else comes first. Yes people may make false accuses or you may have to go to police few times, why make it an issue to do the right thing.   That is why I love the Galle Fire Guys with all those risks at stake they came to help.

2.       How can someone live happy life after giving so much pain to someone else by stealing their money? She may have brought that money to spend for her son’s education; daughter’s wedding or even to pay a hospital bill. How someone can sleep peacefully after giving such a pain to a person. There was recent incident about a dad who got robbed when he was bringing some money to his daughter wedding and unfortunately that dad dies due to the sadness just few hours before his daughter wedding.

3.       Is there a different value of human lives? Is that why whole Police protecting one person while putting everyone else’s safety at risk? If Sri Lanka is a safe country and there is no war why politicians need this much security. As the president of people in Sri Lanka will he agree with the police, regarding safety value of people who appointed him lesser than his security?

Update

It has been almost two weeks after this guy left USA. What is he doing back in his country?

For the friends who had a question as above in their mind.....

I have started searching for options, options seeking the answer where i should begin.

Have contacted few Government, Non-Government and Private organizations.

Trying to get a feeling of what had happened with the field of EMS while i was away for six months.

One thing for sure there is an excitement on everyone who was in the field of EMS that i have seen before.

There is nothing concrete to share, as i heard ROME was not build in one day but hopefully building the national EMS system in Sri Lanka won't take as much as time they took to build Rome.

America in my Eyes-01

When i came to Sri Lanka, majority of my friends wanted to picture America through the things i was telling them, at the beginning some didn't believe me. Because they already had a picture of America created by Hollywood and Media. I know i am not an expert to write about America, but i went their twice, met people and spend more than 08 months altogether, I have a picture or understanding about america which is more positive than the pictures created by Hollywood or Media.

When i first start to compare USA and Sri Lanka i didn't see a difference. If you want me to compare USA and SL in one sentence i would say, Both are same in different scales.

In my eyes USA is a country of dreams, now don't judge this statement without reading the rest. 

Citizens of other countries dream about going to america, dream about getting the citizenship in America, Living working in America, Americans dream about changing their country, Dream about being individuals who lead those changes, Dream about bringing the values in other countries to make America the perfect land, Dream about changing other countries, Dream about being an positive example for others, Dream about helping the world to unite and many other things.

So to me America or USA is a country of dreams, But the Amazing thing is some dreams come as day dreams then they become dreams and then become goals. 

America is also a country full of emotions, You can make them happy by just saying thank you and also can make them sad just by not paying attention. Majority of American always try not to offence anyone, so they try to avoid eye contact with strangers because they think it will offence them. This is not because they are not friendly, Not because they need space, But because they respect others and love to give others the space they needed. But if you open-up and allow them to enter or, break the fences in their space you won't find a greater friends than Americans.

Each and every American have their own personal view about America, they are really good at expressing them but the fascinating thing is that they are willing to listen to others. 

From where ever they come from each and every person become an American after you start living there, But everyone have relics remain in their habits and actions that shows where they are from. So in another way America have whole world in one country. When you explore america, you are exploring the world. 

Because the people who claim Americans are migrants from around the world, Real Americans have an Adjective in-front of their names called Native. The native Americans welcomed or had to welcome these current so called Americans from all around the world. The Americans always respect native Americans and not proud about everything happened while they are becoming American and putting an adjective to real Americans.

Another thing i saw in Americans is the willingness they have to make their wrongs right. If they have done something wrong intentionally or unintentionally, they always willing to make it right. But they are so proud about them selves they will not accept their wrongs always, will always try to justify them, If you push them too much their first actions are to prove them right. Best thing to do is to give them the space to make it right. But if we look ourselves through the mirror of reality isn't it the same case with us?

Americans are always willing to learn from others and will show their respect for sharing the knowledge. They are willing to change, I will quote something told by an American Friend "We don't have a history of thousand years, We are one of the youngest brothers in the world, If you compare our history our country still a baby, we are still learning the ways of the world". I think that is a true statement, But baby America have a soul of a great great great grandfather living in them, given the name Native American which they always can go back and learn if they are willing.

In summery America have all aspects that we have in our countries, Then why America is the land of Dreams? Because in America you have the privilege of criticizing American ways while living in America which is a dream for majority of the Citizens in Other Countries.

EADNC blog will be the place which i will be using to share my thoughts, Ideas, Workand many more. I know some people think why we want to publish our stuff on the web. I choose to do this because i want the other people who thinks like me to know that they are not the only people that think like the way they think.

Also i have friends all around the world, being a guy who learn from others i know they really wants to know what i have done with the knowledge they have shared with me. So this will keep them update showing them that they didn't waste their time when they educated me through their experiences.
